On March 21, the world is coming together for Gout de France / Good France, an annual event organised by the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs and the legendary chef Alain Ducasse that brings together more than 3,000 restaurants in 150 countries in a global celebration of French gastronomy and companionship.
Most families get together over food. Others define themselves through it. Such is the case with the Marchand Brothers, Frères Marchand, who are regularly hailed as France’s elite masters of cheese. Khéma is proud to announce that Frères Marchand is now our primary cheese supplier, and that this month you can not only experience the magic of their products, but also meet one of the brothers for two exceptional opportunities to learn more about the sublime world of cheese.
If you thought our cakes are winners, it turns out you’re not alone. We are thrilled to announce that Khéma Pasteur’s pastry chef Pen Sotheany won a silver medal at the Cambodia National Culinary Competition held at the Culinary Academy of Cambodia over the weekend of 19 to 21 January. Sotheany took second place in the Live Cake Decoration competition with her stunningly elegant golden chocolate, salted caramel, peanut and jasmine cake. And it’s as beautiful on the inside as it is on the outside, with a dense, rich chocolatey mousse on a crispy bed of peanut and salted caramel and the soft scent of jasmine throughout.
This weekend Khéma brings La Chandeleur and the chance to indulge in piles of delicious crêpes at Khéma. But what is La Chandeleur, and why do the French love it so?
Love is in Khéma in 2018. We’ve made life easy for the city’s incurable romantics with a Valentine’s Menu that is guaranteed to set hearts beating. Your date will be swooning over salmon and cream cheese rolled on blinis, Mekong lobster, creamy cauliflower soup topped with rich, smooth foie gras, tender beef tournedos, and an irresistible vanilla delight with a ripe raspberry heart. See the full menu below to understand the real meaning of temptation.
We’re lining up a whole week of Incredible Crêpes for breakfast, lunch, dinner and High Tea to celebrate the Festival of Light this February, and because they’re delicious, so really that’s just an excuse?
Will you be the King of your Kids this weekend? Find out at Khéma’s all-you-can-eat Galette des Rois with free-flow of flavoured syrup drinks for the kids, and coffee or tea for the adults. For just $5++ per person, join us at Khéma Pasteur and Khéma La Poste this Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th between 3pm and 5pm. Your crown is awaiting…
Like all the best traditions that live on in seeming perpetuity, the French tradition of eating a Galette des Rois for Epiphany is a blend of ancient pagan customs and more modern Christian lore all mixed in with a healthy dose of just enjoying the chance to share a little cake and fun with friends and family. Come to Khéma between now and the end of January to enjoy yours, and find out whether you’ll be crowned King or Queen for the day.
